Why Retiraq

What makes the Retiraq approach different

Organised around your documents

Every session is structured around the real papers households accumulate — not abstract concepts. You leave with a filing system that matches what you already have.

Small, unhurried groups

Sessions are kept small so that each participant can work at a comfortable pace. There is no rush, and the discussion leader takes questions as they arise.

Only publicly available materials

The literacy course draws exclusively from publicly available official sources. Participants can verify and revisit every item covered long after the session ends.

Couples programme includes home visits

The yearly programme begins with a session at your home, so the filing system is built around the actual space where your records are kept.

Educational and organisational only

Retiraq does not provide financial or legal advice. The scope is clear: labelling, filing, reading, and recording. Participants know exactly what they are signing up for.

Based in Georgetown, Penang

Sessions are held at our Georgetown address — a quiet, accessible space in the heart of Penang. Easy to reach by public transport or on foot from the ferry terminal.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

If something is not covered below, please call or write to us directly.

What kind of documents does the records session cover? +
The one-day session is designed around the documents most households in Malaysia have by mid-life: MyKad copies, EPF member statements, bank account records, insurance policy receipts, property ownership documents, and beneficiary nomination forms. The session helps you set up a labelled filing system for what you already have — it is not a document collection service.
Does Retiraq provide financial or legal advice? +
No. Retiraq does not offer financial planning, investment guidance, legal advice, or any kind of individual recommendation. All sessions are educational and organisational in nature. The literacy course draws only from publicly available information, and participants are encouraged to consult a qualified professional for any personal decision.
How many people attend each session? +
Sessions are kept small — typically between four and eight participants for group sessions. The yearly couples programme includes home visits, so those sessions are one couple at a time. Small numbers allow each person to work at their own pace without feeling rushed.
What is the format of the six-session literacy course? +
The course runs weekly, with one session per week over six weeks. Each session is structured as a reading group: participants work through publicly available materials together with a discussion leader who explains formatting conventions and helps locate official sources for follow-up reading. Course materials are provided and participants keep them.
Where are the sessions held? +
Group sessions take place at our Georgetown premises at 28A Lebuh Chulia, 10200 Georgetown, Penang. The yearly couples programme includes an initial session at the couple's home. Please contact us to confirm availability and directions.
What are the session fees and what do they cover? +
The one-day records session is RM 690 per participant and covers the full day plus your folder structure and records map. The six-session literacy course is RM 1,950 and includes all course materials. The yearly couples programme is RM 4,420 for the full twelve months, including the initial home session, three follow-up sessions, and the annual review, plus a structured family records folder at the end.
Is my personal information kept private? +
We collect only the contact information needed to confirm your enrolment. We do not ask participants to share the contents of their personal documents during group sessions — the session is about your filing system, not about examining your account details. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.
